about

Pap Orbe used to go to his grandparents farm and gather with his whole family and friends for what they call “guateques”. These parties could start on a Friday afternoon and end on Sunday morning. And while the music was omnipresent, it was necessary to cook for at least forty people. So when we ask him why he composed a song that tells a family story: “I suppose it’s because the brain seeks the most pleasant memories of the past to cope with a 30 year exile from my homeland” he says.

So let's cook a good plate and press play!
